(3) Rs 172

(4) Rs 202

(5) Rs 184

Answers with explanation

Ans.1) 21.6%
Explanation:
Money in the bag = 600 * 25/100 + 1200 * 50/100 = 150 + 600 = Rs. 750
12/100 * 600 = 72, 600 – 72 = 528 left
24/100 *1200 = 288, 1200 – 28 = 912 left
Total money left = 528 * 25/100 + 912 * 50/100 = 132 + 456 = Rs. 588
percentage of money removed = (750 – 588)/750 * 100

Ans.2) 16 yrs
Explanation:
A’s age one year ago was 4x, B’s age one year ago was 3x.
One year hence (or after 2 yrs from 4x and 3x):
(4x + 2)/(3x + 2) = 5/4
x = 2
A’s present age = 4x + 1 = 4*2 + 1 = 9 yrs. B’s present age = 3x + 1 = 3*2 + 1 = 7 yrs.
Ans.3) 81
Explanation:
Let number be 10x + y
x + y = 9
(10x + y) – 63 = 10y + x
Find x and y
Ans.4) It’s ‘Rs 3200’
Ans. B
Let CP of article be X Rs ⇒ SP = 0.85X Rs

New CP = 0.8X; New SP = 0.85X+736; New profit% = 35%
⇒ 0.85X+736 = 1.35*0.8X = 1.08X
⇒ 0.23X = 736 ⇒ X = 736/0.23 = 3200 Rs

Ans.5) It’s ‘3!*4!’
Ans. C
First, arrange 4 boys. 4 boys can be arranged in a circle in [4-1]! = 3! ways

4 girls can arrange in 4 spots in 4P4 = 4! ways
Total ways = 3!*4! = 144 ways

Ans.6)   .9

Ans.7 B:T= 20:30=20+2:30+6
T:B=36:2=18:11

Ans.8) 100
? = (4200 / 60 * 30)/21 = 70*30/21 = 100
Ans.9) 24 days
For distance,
Distance travelled in 8 days by 1st man,
D1 = 12 × 8 = 96 km.
and by 2nd man,
D2 = 20 × 8 = 160 km
For remaining distance, let both take t days
to reach the final destination.
x – 96 = 2 × 12 × t
x – 96 = 24 t ………. (i)
and x – 160 = 20 t …… (ii)
From (i) and (ii); we get,
x – 96 – x + 160 = 24 t – 20 t
64 = 4 t
t = 16 days.
Total number of days = 16 + 8 = 24 days.
Ans.10   184 A = P[(1 + clip_image014)T – 1]

= 2600 [(1 + clip_image016)3 – 1]

= 2600 x 0.5209 = Rs. 1354

Simple interest = clip_image018

= clip_image020 = Rs. 1170

∴ Difference = Rs. (1354 – 1170)

= Rs. 184
