What are eligibilty criteria for CAT exam 2015?
The person should have attained minimum 50 percent marks (Gen) and at least 45 percent marks (ST, SC and PWD) awarded by recognized universities or educational institutions declared by UGC act. Any qualification that is recognized by Ministry of HRD can also be possessed. Calculation of the percentage would be done on the basis of practice that is followed by the institution or the university wherein the degree has been obtained.
In case grades are awarded instead of marks, conversion into percentage would be done based on procedure that has been certified by the institution or the university from where the bachelor’s degree has been attained. In case the institution or the university doesn’t have scheme to convert, the grade of the candidate would be divided by maximum possible CGPA and then multiplied with 100. Those who are still appearing for final year of the Bachelor’s degree or some equivalent qualification and those who have completed the degree but awaiting the results can also submit the application. If the candidates are selected, the program can be joined provisionally only if the certificate is submitted latest by 30th of June 2016 from his or her college or institute or the Registrar or principle which states that all requirements that are needed for Bachelors degree or any equivalent qualification have been completed on the date on which the certificate is issued.

What are the equivalent qualifications?
- Bachelors degree in Technology or Engineering (4 years after the 10+2, after B.Sc or after the diploma) or B.Tech or B.E equivalent exams of professional societies that are recognized by AICTE, UPSC or MHRD.
- Any qualification that has got recognition by Association of Indian Universities New Delhi and has equivalence to Bachelor’s degree that has been awarded by UGC recognized institutions or university.
- Cases that don’t cover the above mentioned requirements should get a certificate produced from Association of Indian Universities New Delhi.
