This exam consists of four sections that include General Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning. Making a good strategy for this exam is extremely important. English and Maths are very essential sections and hence, equal preparation is needed for the same. 25 to 30 percent of time can be given in Tier 1 Exam and 15 percent of the time can be given to GK. Time needs to be managed mainly in essential sections like Maths and English.

SSC CGL preparation tips for Reasoning

Here, this test is conducted to observe problem solving ability. It doesn’t involve numerical skills wherein some formula is learned and some questions are solved with that formula. Proper care needs to be taken while answering the questions. Essential questions include coding and decoding, directions, blood relations, series problems, classification, assumptions and directions and data sufficiency. It deals with mirror images and problem figures.

SSC CGL preparation tips for Quantitative aptitude

It includes basic maths questions. Before you exercise these questions, some shortcut cuts and formulae must be learnt so that questions can be solved in less time. In this section, questions are calculation instruments. You can score a lot in this section if you rightly understand this problem. Most important questions include Probability, Pie chart, Bar graph, Time and distance, Simple interest and compound interest, profit and loss, Time and Work, Ratio and Proportion, Fractions and Number systems.

  • The vocabulary can be improved by knowing 10 new words daily along with antonyms and synonyms

SSC CGL preparation tips for General awareness

This is a very important section of the exam. This section is important because it is very scoring and can be quickly attempted. Some most important questions include topics like Abbreviations, Award Winners, Important Days and Basic General knowledge. Some general tips include:

  • National news must be listened and read on daily basis
  • General awareness books must be read like Pratiyogita Darpan, Competition Success Review and Competition Master.
  • The last budget that the Central Government passed must be studied
  • Beware of all changes round the globe in last 6-7 months.
