Few days are remaining for SBI PO mains exam 2015 which going to be held on 26th July 2015. Likewise during every exams  students get confused what to study and what to not? because General Knowledge is a vast learning subject which requires 24x 7 time to update yourself. Exam Pattern for Bank Exams

Prelims: Aptitude, Reasoning & English ( We won’t be focusing on prelims as prelims do not have general awareness in its syllabus. For preparing for prelims exam do check our another post:  How to prepare for SBI PO Exam

Main Examination: Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive
Test for 50 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer descriptive test by typing on the computer. Immediately after completion of objective test, descriptive test will be administered.
(i) Objective Test: The Objective Test of 2 hour duration consists of 4 Sections with 50 marks each (Total 200
marks) as follows:

  • Test of English Language (Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension etc.)
  • Test of General Awareness, Marketing &Computers
  • Test of Data Analysis & Interpretation
  • Test of Reasoning (High Level)

The candidates are required to qualify in each of the Tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.

(ii) Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test of 1 hour duration with 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay)

1) General Awareness high focused topics: Banking awareness theory and Economy current affairs

2) Follow the rule “ECM” which stands for Economy Computer Marketing. In Banks exams economy based questions are asked much more comparatively to other topics.

3) Read NCERT Books of class XI & XII. It will give idea about the bank accounts, discounting bills etc.
